Jered Ebenreck is a public health professional and radio producer known for working with multi-disciplinary teams to produce dynamic reports, social insights, and policy proposals. He provided a variety of community services, legislative engagements, and grassroots participation in multiple venues. Whether responding to COVID-19, providing individual patient assessment, creating content for community radio, or family caregiving, their career demonstrates crisis preparedness, trauma-informed community engagement, and a commitment to the transformative power of information and education to promote health equity.
Over 20 years of hands-on work with chronically ill, disabled, and disadvantaged patients provided him with practical exposure to the impact of health inequities on concrete lives. Working as a reporter and contact tracer covering COVID-19 taught him how to work in complex institutions with nuanced and developing epidemiological data while translating that information to the everyday person in phone calls and radio reports. A pathway that includes his recent MPH degree in 2023, Jered’s education testifies to the integration offered by his unique perspective on policy concerning formal and informal caregivers, social equity, healthcare utilization, and crisis response.
